Mallory Park track day
with Ian, Tony and Joe
Things were looking bleak when it took me 1hr 20mins to get to Joe's place in Ashford Middlsex from Streatham. We loaded my bike and kit into his
Luton with the big tail lift and packed his TZR250 and kit and off we went. By this time it was 11:15am and we were just setting off to try and get to Mallory for 1:30pm start.
It rained on the way there and by the time we got in at 2:00pm if was a tropical rain storm. I got Joe sorted out as his bike needed some head and gasket work the night before and it was now running on 1
cylinder. The bike cleared itself and he was able to get out and feel his way round. Tony Norman also was there in his new transit and was also running in his rebuilt motor in the wet.
By this time it was well cold and by the time I changed by tyres to wets and started to think that this was not going to be worth it. The sessions were delayed due to standing water and it was
eventually cut short. I decided not to bother as I was going to Brands Hatch the next day and I
didn't fancy having to get into wet leathers the next day. Joe and Tony proved that their engines were working ready for the major 4 days testing in France next week.

accept an amended juicy version from Joe or Tony) |
